85 Engaging in the Bodhisattva's Deeds: Taking Pleasure in Bad Actions 04-07-22

Venerable Thubten Chodron continues her commentary on the 16 intrusive conditions and incompatible propensities that interfere with practicing the Dharma taught by Longchenpa. She explains the last four of the incompatible propensities: taking pleasure in bad actions, lack of interest in the Dharma, heedlessness in your precepts, and heedlessness in your samayas. She describes the four doorways to engaging in destructive actions and the antidotes to them. This forms part of her commentary to verse 15 of Chapter 7, "Enthusiasm" of Shantideva's "Engaging in the Bodhisattva's Deeds," which is on the laziness of being distracted by worldly affairs.
