Today I’m practicing my Fuzhounese 福州话, otherwise known in English as Fuzhou dialect, Foochow, Hokchew, or simply FJ, in New York City Chinatown. There are lots of Fujianese immigrants in NYC and people were really surprised that I was able to learn this rare oral dialect of Chinese. Especially when I used it to order some delicious Chinese food!
